BOYLE CHALLENGE GUP The wintry weather yesterday taxed the endurance of all who had anything to do witli the coursing at the Forbnry plumpton. The ground was heavy; not carrying as much water as might have been expected, but trving for both the dogs and tho hares when running, as they had to do, against a strong wind. The chief officials for the day were Mr J. Ronald as slipper, Mr F. Rose as slip steward, Mr It. Prebblo as judge, Messrs T. Lee and C. Leo as joint secretaries. Seven kills during the afternoon. BOYLE CHALLENGE CUP. Winner, £35; runner-up, £10; two dogs at £1 10s each; three dogs at £3 each. Winner to hold the Boyle Cup for twelve months and receive as a lasting souvenir a miniature silver cup. —First Round.— Dowling Bros.’ Dorian boat T. Lee’s Mac’s Hope.—A no-course; then won purely on speed, the hare beating both. W. Wellington’s Mystic King beat R. Barkclcy’s Better Luck.— A good race till Mystic King drew out to wrench two lengths in front. J. White (ns) Tipi Canoe heat G. Pow’s Wait-a-wee.— I Tipi Canoe caught up three lengths in the run up, turned a length ahead, and won anyhow. Miss Audorsou’s Devil’s Guard beat Coxon’s Moonbeam. A no-conrse, Moonbeam losing sight shortly alter the slip. The same thing happened again, and Devil’s Guard, who got a wrench, was declared the winner. J. Simmonds’s Happy Voyage beat J. Goodman’s Man o’ War.—After a nocourso Happy Voyage was two lengths tho faster and did everything, including the kill. J. H. Thomson’s Colonial Boy an accidental bye, A. Todd’s Southern Verse being absent. J. Matheson’s Grand Slam heat T. Hughes’s (ns) Atboldenc.—Grand Slam easily outpaced his opponent and pulled down the hare, which Atholdeno killed. D. Tither’s Osternian beat Harper and Adams’s Box o’ Tricks.-—Ostcrman outclassed the other in a long course after a strong hareIrwin and Marks’s Red Sentry heat G. Pow’s Sweet Tipperary.—Red Sentry led three lengths and after turning foil, and puss escaped before Sweet Tipperary had balanced the score. J. Simmonds's First Alley beat N. Gunn’s Neptune.—First Alley was three lengths the faster and had much the best of the exchanges. G. Morgan’s Kevansfort beat Irwin and Marks’s Grey Gipsy.—Kevansfort up by a length and worked closer in a short course. Dowling Bros.’ Lupelight beat H. Brockie’s Jolly Time. —Lupelight got np six or seven lengths ahead; then ran wide in the close work, but Jolly Time tired before lie had made the account even, and an interesting course, with a- lot of work in it, resulted in a decisive win for Lupelight. Dowling Bros.’ Moonlight boat A. Macro's Isle ol Skye.—Moonlight wou at all points of the feame. —Second Round.— Mystic King boat Dorian.—Mystic King led two lengths; then Dorian had an innings, and there was not much in Tipi Canoe beat Devil's Guartl.-—The winner led by seven lengths and did everything in a short course. Colonial Boy beat Happy Voyage.— They ran an undecided and went back to tlie slips at once. Colonial Boy got first torn two lengths ahead, then Happy Voyage got in for a score which sonic of tho onlookers thought . had given her the victory, but the judge was in tho best position to see and to say. Osternian heat Grand Slam.—Grand Slam was up three lengths in front, hut continuously overran tho hare, and thus gave away the chance his speed should have used. Red Sentry boat First Alley.—A short course to a weak hare. Red Soutry led a length and the other killed. Lupelight heat Kevansfort.—Kevansfort was a length faster than Lupelight, but in a short course the latter put in a hit of fast work and killed. Moonlight a bye.
