COLLISION IN CHANNEL.

LONDON, -<August 14.—A; collision occurred in the Channel iu a thick fog to-night between tho French cargo steamer St. Marc and the French collier Baiviilo. Tho St. Mur; sank immediately. It is feared that the whole of tho crew of thirteen wore drowned. They were mostly asleep. Tho Barvillc ran ashore safely. The captain stated that be could not see thirty yards ahead. —A. and N.Z.
