BRITAIN, U.S.A., AND THE BIBLE
ME JOHN BAXTER'S LECTURE. Last evening in the Y.M.C.A. Mr John Baxter, F.R.G.S., delivered an interesting lecture. His subject was ‘ Groat Britain, the United States ot America, and the Bible.’ The president of the local branch of tho British Israel world Federation (Mr \V. Barns) occupied the chair. Mr Baxter said that tho teaching ot the British Israel Federation was making good headway in both Britain and America. It was necessary, before proceeding with the lecture, to define the beliefs of the federation. The federation based its beliefs on the truths of the Bible. The Bible they believed to ho composed by men inspired by tho Spirit of pod. Tho lecture was based on Biblical truths. The Bible was designed to embody in successive disclosures the ‘ History of the World.’ The twelve-tribe house of Israel was united under David, hut separated into two parts under Jeroboam and Rehoboam. The Jews returned to Israel. Judah did not. The ten went beyond the Euphrates, and it is contended formed the British Empire. Great Britain represented Ephraim’s descendants, while America those of Manasseh. The British Empire to-day stands as the world’s greatest e\ angeliser. America would never be greater than Great Britain. These two nations held the wealth and the power of the world, and, as God predicted, they would unite, then the millennium would come. At the close of the lecture Air Baxter was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
