The Aingo Charity Shield match between the Pirates (premiers) and University (runners-up), to be played at Cartsfirook on Saturday, is beip£ looked forward to with a groat deal of interest. University supporters consider that the Light Blues nave not displayed their true form in their matches against the Pirates, and are confident that the students will turn the tables on the Blacks on Saturday; while Pirates ore still anxious to go through the season with an unbeaten record. A fust, open gaum is expected. As a curtain raiser the final of the second grade, competition will be played between Port Chalmers and Training College ; and this should also provide n bright, open game. The profits will be devoted to the Salvation Army, St. John Ambulance Association, Patients and Prisoner?’ Aid Society, Men’s Mission House, Presbyterian Social Service Association. St. Vincent de Paul Society, Anglican Boy.?’ Home, Wesleyan Social Service Association, and the Free Kindergarten Association. The box plan will open at The Bristol to-morrow. There will be absolutely no free list. Ground tickets will be on sale at the Otago Sports Depot and S. Jacobs’s. Official guides containing full particulars will be on sale on the ground.
