FAT CATTLE EASTER. Fat cattle dropped from 20s to 30s per head at Burnside to-day. Sheep sold well, and other prices were unchanged. i Sheep.—An entry of 1,558 head. It was a fairly short yarding, and there was keen competition throughout tho sale. Tho.-o wore many good, useful owes and wethers and a very small proportion of light wethers. Somo of the , owes were exceptionally good. Prices I were quite as high as those of last 'week. Extra prime wothers made from 52s (;d to 5Ss; medium, 12s (id to 48s; light, 33s to 41a. Extra prime ewes made up to 50s fld; prime, 40a to 4(ls; medium, 38f> to 40s; lighter sorts, 30s to 355. Odd pens of hoggets (there were ninety-four * all told) wore sold, mostly to graziers. Exporters were not operating. Prices showed very littlo change. i Eat Cattle.-—-A yarding of 270 head, j Thero were many prime quality hul- ■ locks _ from Southland and as far north las Tirnaru. There wore, too, a fair | sprinkling of cows and heifers, somo of which were hardly finished. A number of country butchers wero in attendance, but, ns one or two of tho leading butchers had supplies, the competition was hardly as keen as that of last week, and tho number forward was in excess of the demand. Prices were, back from 2 ( {f to 30s per head. Prime Bullocks made, from £2l to £25; ; medium, £ls to £18; light, £ll 10s to 1 £l4. Prime cows ana heifers maoo from £l2 to £l4; medium, £lO to £ll 15s; old and inferior, £6 to £9. Store Cattle.--Not many were forward, and the yarding was a mixed lone. Good cows sold well, and other sorts were turned over at unchanged : I,l j>igs.—There wore fortv-cight fats and thirty-eight stores. Prices showed t little change.
