1 Bandits on July 20 attacked a ranch in Northern Manchuria, wliie.li an American. Major Morgan Palmer, was developing lor refugees from the famine districts. The Americans put up & tight, in which Major Rainier was killed aiid an eve specialist. Dr .Howard, of the CnioiV Medical College, was captured. Other foreigners from th« ranch reached safety.]
