As the son of a. famous gunman, he has inherited tho lust to kill of the Western outlaw. This inherent desire has been kept in check, until he quarrels with a drunken rowdy named Cal Bain Ho is forced to fight or ho counted out, and lie fights, and against his inclination he is forced to become an outlaw. His adventure,s among the great outlaw camps in the mountains furnish ample material lor an excellent display of the talent which he undoubtedly possesses. 'Tom Mix’s experience fits him for such roles ns that of the Lone Star Banger. In the ‘Last of the Duanes ’ there is scope lor his comedy and his tragedy ability, which has made Tom Mix a, universal favorite among screen patrons.

OCTAGON 'The headliner at tho Octagon Theatre is ‘ Argentine Love.’ The principal feminine role is taken by Be he Daniels, and the hero ol the piece is Ricardo Cortez.. He acts the part of tho lover of Consuela (Beho Daniels), who is being forced into a distasteful marriage by her parents. 'The latter are bent on allying themselves through their daughter with, tho wealth of a, dissolute hut rich Spaniard, named Emmanuel Garcia. The girl is determined not to marry Garcia, as she lias already given her heart to a young American engineer, who cannot compare with Garcia as a suitor in the eyes of the parents on account of his poverty. Ollier excellent items arc shown in support, and a delightful musical programme is played by the Octagon Concert Orchestra. QUEEN'S AND KING EDWARD. Anna Q. Nilsson and Norman Kerry have the title roles in ‘Between Friends,’ which is now at the Queen’s and King Edward. It is a drama ol scourged hearts, and has a most surprising climax. Also showing at tho Queen’s is ‘ Tho Sign of tho Cactus,’ in which Jack Hoxio is featured. There are many tense situations in the picture, as Hoxio personates a man who has taken up the side of the ranchers, keeping them from absolute ruin by use of money taken from the irrigation company. * EVERYBODY'S , Tho big picture at Everybody’s Theatre is ‘"Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall,’ iu which the inimitable Mary Pickt’ord appears in scenes ol unequalled splendor, gowned in the most gorgeous fashion. Allan Forrest takes the part of Sir John Manners, and there is a good supporting cast. Comedies and gazettes are also screened. PLAZA AND GRAND Buck Jones and Lucy Fox enact the leading roles in the Western romance picture, ‘The Arizona Romeo.’ This picture, along with ‘Wolf Blood,’ is being shown at the Plaza and Grand Theatres.
