At the opening of Parliament the Governor’s Speech stated that the Government proposed to amend the Arbitration Act by creating a board of trade [and arbitration, which would have 'judicial and administrative powers, as veil as exercising the function of the Arbitration Court. A Child Endowment Bill would also bo submitted. TASMANIAN SURPLUS. HOBART, July 21). (Received July 29, at 9.55 a.tn.) At the opening of the Tasmanian Parliament the Governor’s Speech stated that there would be a surplus of £86,000. A State Industrial Arbitration Court would bo established, and pastoralists’ estates would be subdivided for closer settlement.
