The Senate of tho Calcutta University’ adopted a resolution urging that some form of physical drill or games should be made compulsory in all the schools affiliated to tho university. The mover pointed out that, while tho university had adopted tho intellectual side of Western education, the physical side had been completely neglected. Out of 9,000 students examined by the Welfare Committee 00 per cent, were found to ho defective. —Sydney ‘Sun’ Cable.
