Leslie Hathaway robbed a bank in Tlmrndale. ’ Four clerks lived above the bank. Hathaway, at midnight, horded them in the vault, while he stole 6,000 dollars. He then drove away in an automobile. When ho had driven sis miles out of town he became worried as la whether the clerks wore suffocated, and returned. Ho found,, .himself unable to open the vault, so he called the police, who assisted to get an expert, who freed the fainting clerks. Hathaway quietly slipped away again, hut an unlucky chance caused bis arrest in the nest town. —Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
