The Acting Secretary of tho Navy, Mr .Robinson, will soon inspect tile naval bases, including Pearl .Harbor, at Honolulu. The joint, army and uavy manoeuvres in Hawaiian waters demonstrated its weakness from the point of view of defence, and an appropriation for Pearl Harbor will be stressed daring next Congress. Tho confidential reports on tho situation which have already been made by Admiral Coontz and General Hines are being studied by a joint board of the army and navy. Senator Hale (chairman of tbe Senate’s NStval Committee) and other Congressmen visited Pearl Harbor recently.— Reuter.
