XOIiTH-EAST VALLEY CLl'li. The twenty-first annual report states that the committee congratulated the club on the progress made. A special meeting of the executive was held on March 13, when Mr Rhodes reported that he had secured the freehold ot the howling green and the tennis courts. Needless to say, the receipt of this news was heartily welcomed, and the members present voiced their appreciation of the generosity of Mr llhodcs. The howling section experienced a successful season in interdnh matches, gaining; 12 banner points against 1 the year before. The membership for the year was 47 active, 20 honorary, 5 first year, and 8 life. The Green Committee was to lie congratulated on the state of the green. The club was represented at the dominion bowling tournament by a rink skipped by Mr J. Tonkin, and the players acquitted themselves well. Mr Tonkin further enhanced bis reputation by reaching the semi-finals in the singles and the final in the pairs. Tim club was also represented at the local tournament, and ten members took part in the elderly bowlers’ game. The usual club ties were played, the results being:—Champion singles—J. Tonkin ], T. Snoeston 2; pairs, D. Sherrill's and W. Cnlbcrt; handicap singles, W. Dryden; colts’ singles, 11. Williams. The thanks of the club were duo to the following for donations to the prize fund :—Messrs Culbert, W. IS. Anderson, Scatt. and M'Lcan. The ladies’ section deserved thanks for valuable assistance, both financially ami socially. The membership of ilia Ladies’ Chib was twenty-nine.
