MELBOURNE, July 20. Eire at S. B. Harris’s hoot factory in the city caused damage estimated at £6,000. Shortly after the brigade’s arrival the concrete of the building collapsed, falling on three firemen. E. Holncss, aged thirty-one, was killed instantaneously, and Albert M’Henry and Herbert Gill were injured, and were sent to hospital. Holncss is the first member of the Metropolitan Eire Brigade to bo killed while fighting a fire in Melbourne. ,Two other firemen narrowly escaped the falling wall.
