H. Vardon (South Hants) 77 79 315 James C. Barnes is a. native of Cornwall, hut went to America in his teens. In 1921 ho won the American championship with a record score. He is known sa the Braid of America, and is a great player with the irons. The champion has visited England several times. He is the professional to the Pelham Club, New York, and is said to ho the highest paid golfer in that country.
