EXHIBITION MOTOR PARKING.
ro thk t:minn Sir, —I wisli to voice my emphatic protest against tho proposal of the City Council for sotting aside Harbor terrace and Eden street for the parking of motor cars. Harbor terrace Jias been Jn a state of turmoil for some time, what with the floods and carting of material around the Exhibition. It is time the ratepayers loccived some consideration in this locality. Instead of the council, discouraging conges-
tion of traffic it is simply aiding it. Our children are in constant danger with the increased traffic. M bat will it be with cars inanccvring in this narrow street? There are to be traincurs and motor buses plviug tn the Exhibition, which, if properly organised, should lie aide to deal with the°traUic to a. very great extent. I think Harbor terrace and Eden street' should be a protected area for pedestrians, and if the. car owners must travel to the Exhibition in their cars I would suggest that an enclosure be formed at the bottom of Albany .street, on the reclaimed ground, where they could turn oft toe. highway, and for a' small charge their cars would bo ynder the eye of an efficient attendant. —I am. etc., ' H. B.uixo.v. Juno 29.
