The fortnightly meeting of St. Joseph’s hrancJi, .Mo. 73, of the. H.A.C.B.S. war, held in the, .serial club rooms (Moran .Buddings), Octagon, on Tuesday, Juno 23. T'no president. (JJro. A. Gillic.lt) occupied the chair, and there was a very large attendance of members. The sick visitors I Bros, A. Borland, W. K. Bimpscm, and E. Lyngi hawing reported, the nick ami other accounts wore passed lor payment, and a large amount of routine business war, disposed (>f in good lime. Tim secretary (tiro. J, ,). Boial) was instructed to write to the Children of Mary, North-cast Valley, and tender thorn the branch's thanks for tho very nice, breakfast (hat they had provided for flu; members of the society on Sunday, June 21. The president stated that the next meeting’ would be held on July V, ami at that meeting (ho installation of ollieers for the next, term would take place, and hoped that, there would he. a very large attendance of members, as His Lordship Bishop Whyte had consented to be present. The installation ceremony will be performed by tho District Deputy (Bro. James J. (Marlow), who will be assisted by Past President Pro. It, ,A. •Simpson and Past President. Bro. J. J, Marlow, jnn. The. newly-formed Social Club is proving a great success, and members are getting a vast amount of enjoyment from it.
j _ The quarterly general communion of the j Hibernian Society was held at, 8.50 a.m. | Mass at Ihe Sacred Heart Church, Northj cast, 1 alley, on Sunday. Juno 21. The ' attendance was one of (lie largc-t of Hibernians that has yet assembled at the Talley. After the Mass the members wore entertained to breakfast, by the Children of Mary of the district. Tier, Father Kaveney (chaplain to SI. Joseph’s), branch No. 70, wsa celebrant fit tlio Mass. l’>co. .!. J. Marlow (District. Dnnutvj presided. At the conclusion of the breakfast the District Deputy proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the ladies for i the very appetising breakfast served, which, he assured them, wan greatlv appreciated by all.
