(Received June 27, at 11.40 a.m.) The British Legation handed a Note to the Foreign Office protesting against the firing on the Shameen, which resulted in the wounding of Britishers.—Reuter. FURTHER TROUBLE AT SHANGHAI. PEKING, Juno 27. (Received Juno 27, at 11.40 a.m.) ■Shanghai reported this afternoon that crowds of strikers and rowdies entered the settlement and stoned and stopped the trams. In one instance they threw lime in the eyes of the tram driver. The police hurried to the scene and dispersed the rioters. Otherwise the town is quiet,— Reuter.
