' SYDNEY, April 18. _ When tho Maheno was in mid-stream it was discovered that she was two firemen short. The vessel was delayed for several hours, but late in the afternoon two more were engaged to fill the vacant places, and the steamer sailed at 4.45 p.m. APPLICATION REFUSED. ' SYDNEY, April 18. The industrial registrar refused registration as an industrial union to the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Waterside Workers’ Union. MARAMA AND VOLUMNIA. SYDNEY, April 18. (Received April 18, at 10 a.m.) There is no change in the Manama's position. Members of the crew of the Volumma. assisted by returned soldiers, have commenced painting and docking the vessel. It is understood that Sir John Quick (deputy president of the Arbitration Court)' visited the dock and inspected the Volnmnia.
