LINKING UP
GREAT OIL SYNDICATE. NEW YORK, April 2. Tho transaction by which Mr Edward Doheny has disposed of his interests in the Pan-American Petroleum and Transport Company lins resulted in the formation of a syndicate which is probably the world's largest crude oil producing and marketing corporation. The now syndicate, which is called the Pan-American and Eostorn Petroleum Corporation, will, it is stated, link up the Sinclair organisation, the Standard Oil Company u.'’ Indiana, British interests, and New York hankers into a single group. The Sinclair Company and the Standard Oil Company aro already joint owners of the chief /acuities for handling can and Smith American oil. The nnre.hase from Mr Doheny gives them extended control of his shares, which aro estimated to have brought 38,000,000dul (approximately £7,600,000).
