£32,000 LOST IN BETTING.
When Thomas Morrison (fifty-four) manngcr to a firm of provision merchants of Glasgow, pleaded guilty at Edinburgh to embezzling £32,400, it. was stated that all the money had been lost on horse racing in four years. The account of one bookmaker alone showed that Morrison had lost £25.000. Morrison was sentenced to Keren years’ penal servitude.
