There was chaos amid the galleries, which handicapped the rescuers, some of whom are reported to have succumbed to the gas poison. Others successfully penetrated 1,250 ft. Tho latest reports show that 13* were killed, and seven have been rescued. One hundred and ten bodies have been recovered. The bodies were terribly burned, and only identifiable by their tags on thei* lamps. The explosion hurled others 60ft.
