HEALTH AND FOOD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I see it suggested in to-night’s ‘Star’ that unripe fruit may bo the cause of infantile paralysis. Being so unpalatable, 1 doubt if it is eaten to any extent; whereas ice creams tire most freely partaken of at the seaside, ns elsewhere. I know, personally, of more than one case of illness (very serious, too) caused through eating one ice cream only. A morn tropical climate might counteract the extreme and sudden chill, especially to a delicate stomach, sufficient to cause shock and nerve trouble. Besides, there is always the danger of impurity. Doctors can, of course, prove whether it is so or not., — I am, etc., For Public Health.
