The federal Line steamer Dorset left nt 7.30 a.m. to go lo Port Chalmers to load frozen meat and general cargo for west coast of England ports. Site should sail for Wellington on Saturday. The Trekieve sailed tins morning for Sydney and .Melbourne direct. She is to complete discharge. The Sussex is to sail for Newcastle I his et ening. The Oreti arrived this morning from Bluff and Port Craig. She commenced unloading timber. The, 'sew Zealand Shipping Company s Tekoa, from London via Auckland and Wellington, is due to-night. The Tekoa will go early next- week to Port Chalmers, .where loading for London will be stinted. The Tasmania sailed from Liverpool on Thursday with cargo for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Katoa left Auckland last night for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Knrnn leaves Oamaru on Saturday. She is expected hero on Sunday, and will sail on Tuesday for imam, Westport, and Cieymoinli. THE FERRY SERVICE, The Wahine, from Wellington, arrived at, Lyttelton at. 6.40 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the first f.vpress. THE LLIMAROA. NEW TON DA BIRD. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that tire new steamer Tonganro is to leave London on April 1. The vessel will be cargo-laden for Auckland, Port Chalmers, and New Plymouth. The sale of Hie British full-rigged ship Mount Stewart —one of the two last ships specially built for the Australian wool trade—to French buyers for under £3,000 is reported. ’1 ho owners state that owing to the high cost of working it was found impossible to run the ship at a reasonable profit, and therefore it was decided to dispose, (if her. Hie Mount Stewart, which registered .1.903 tons, was launched from the yards of Barclay, Curie, and Co. in 1891. ?ho measured 271 ft 6in in length, 40ft lin breadth, 23ft 4in depth, moulded depth Suit tin, with n freeboard amidships of 6it 3in. Siic and her sister ship, the Crorndale. were the last two ships specially built for the Australian wool trade, in Lloyd’s Register of 1923-24 only twenty-eight Bnlisliowned sailing ships of over 1.000 tonsure listed, and of these the Mount Stewart was the only one still under her oiiginal house flag of Donaldson, Bose, and Co.

TWO MORE MOTOR SHIPS. Messrs Harlaud and Wolff, Ltd., Belfast, have received an order from the British and African Steam Navigation Company (Messrs Elder, Denipstor, and Co.) for two large motor liners. The vessels are to he fitted with double-acting Diesel engines of the new Burmeister and Wain- j Harlaud and Wolff type.
