At a meeting of the Otago Athletic and Cycling Club it was decided to hold a professional sports meeting on the Caledonian Oround early in April. A comprehensive programme of running, cycling, wrestling, field events, and Highland dancing was drawn up, and promise of support from competitors in North Otago and Smith Canterbury was received.
