Stanley Alfred John- Miles, nineteen vcars of a.gc, appeared: to answer a charge of, on January 27, breaking and entering by night the shop of Florence Crosbie in King Edward street, and stealing therefrom one alarm clock, three purses, one Indy's purse and Kig, one pair scissors, and two fountain pens, of a total value of £2 Is. ...

Accused was also charged with being in possession of a British bulldog revolver except for some lawful, proper, and sufficient purpose. Chief-detective Lewis said accused was found in the shop last night by Constable Watkins. When arrested he had the revolver in his possession, but it was not loaded. As there was evidently another young man concerned in the affair, a renland was desired for inquiries to he made into that aspect of the matter. The other young plan (was watching outside the shop, but evidently escaped. Accused was remanded till Wednesday nest. ALLEGED THEFT OF LIQUOR. George M’llboney was charged with, on January 25, breaking and entering the promises of .Messrs Thomson, Ltd., by day and stealing therefrom one bottle of champagne, one bottle of wine, and one bottle of whiskv, of a total value of £1 11s.

Chief-detective Lewis applied for a sjjort remand. Ho said there was only the police evidence and that of one other witness.

Accused was remanded to appear tomorrow morning.
