(Received January 28, at 11.25 a.m.) A sudden indisposition prevented the Duke of Devonshire from presiding at a hinchcou which ho gave to tho members I of tho Central Committee of tho Fellowship of the British Empire_ Exhibition. ! Lord Denbigh, who presided in his stead, | said that, though the Fellowship for 1924 did not obtain the expected membership, it had established itself everywhere. The dominions had a membership of 28,000 at tho close of the Exhibition. The committee, by careful administration, had reserved 20 per cent, of tho subscriptions for tho foundation of Imperial scholarships instead of 10 per cent, as contemplated, and they woro now negotiating to secure grants in order to reinforce the scholarships. He hoped ventually to give a good- start in life to at least 200 young citizens of tho Empire.—Reuter.
