A glacial mud flow, originating on the side of Mount Shasta ,in Northern California, wag caused by the exceptionally dry season of 1923-24. There was very little snow deposited on Shasta last winter; the sun melted the glacier to such an extent that the water came down in torrents from high above timber lino, bringing clown great quantities of boulders, mud, and debris 20ft deep and a quarter of a-milc wide, it finally emptied into the MT.eod River, and on into the Sacramento River, coloring the water for more than 100 miles below the confluence of the streams. “ Can you support my daughter in the style to which she is accustomed? ” “ No, but I can accustom her to the which I can support
