PIGEON FLYING
NORTH DUNEDIN CLUB. The North Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a single bird race from Culverden, a distance of 250 miles. The station muster liberated seven birds, representing seven lofts. The birds put up a good fly, the winner doing the distance in 5h 20min. Results per minute Duncan I\!‘Donald’s Transport (1.332yd5), 1; A. Brown’s Hardwood (1,325yd5), 2: A. Fraser’s Paddy’s Verse (1.313yd5), 3; L. Tonks’s Lady Embrace (1,273yd5), 4; W. Trewern’s Dunosca (1,264vd5), 5; T. Hutchison’s Battler (l,2loyde), 6; H. Brown’s Little Bain (1.077yd5), 7. The club also flew a race from Napier, a distance of 553 miles, seven lofts competing. five birds covered the distance in race lime, the first four birds putting up a good fly, doing the distance in 14b SBrnin. In the Parnassus race seven birds, representing seven lotto, covered the distance of 281 miles in 8h 18min. Results per minute A.
