BRUCE CLUB. Tho second series in the competition for prizes presented by Mr Alex. Stewart. (Law Courts Hotel, Dunedin) was fired on Saturday afternoon by the Brnco Defence Rillo Club, when there was a good attendance of members. At tho 500yds tlto conditions wore very favorable, and some excellent scores were obtained. At 600yds, with a changing wind, bright light, and targets overcast, shooting was more difficult, particularly for those members who fired down first; but later conditions improved, and tho score# correspondingly showed an improvement. Conditions: Competition to occupy throo Saturdays, two best scores to count; seven shots (sighter optional) at 500 and 600 yards, handicap limit 65; first and second prizes. Scores:—-

The King and tho Prince of Wales wore rivals ior the possession of Princess Royal, a ten-months-old Shorthorn calf, at a Shorthorn sale at Uppermill, Aberdeenshire, in Scotland. The Prince triumphed with a bid of £1,207 10s. A never-failing remedy for coughs and colds in the Bronchitis Cure made by the J. R. Hayne Proprietary, 42 Moray place. -JLAdvU
