COACHWORKERS’ DISPUTE.
CONCILIATION COUNCIL HEARING. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, December 9. The dominion coach workers’ dispute was before the Conciliation Council today., The union asked for a forty-four-hour week, with wages for journeymen coachworkers 2s 9d per hour; helpers, 15 to 16 years, £1 10s per weekp 16 to 17, £1 15s; 17 to 18, £2 ss; 18 to 19, £2 15s; 19 to 20, £3 ss; 20 to 21, £3 15s; over 21, 2s per hour. The employers ask for a. forty-seven-hour week, and the following wages:— Journeymen, 2s l|d per hour; improvers, Is B]d per hour for the first six months and Is lOild for the next six; helper;;, 15 to 16 years, £1 per week; 16 to 17, £1 ss; 17 to 18. £1 10s; 18 to 19, £1 15s; 19 to 20, £2 ss; 20 to 21, £2 15s; over 21, Is B]d per hour; extra helpers, Is B|<l per hour; assemblers, Is 9|d for the first year and Is ilijd per hour thereafter.
