OOTAGOU. ‘ The Green Goddess 1 (Gaorgo Arliss), from William Archer’s original play which run for two years in New York, is tlia headline photo-drama at the Octagon. At one time more than 100,000 square feet of sets were in working order in the Distinctive studios and the adjoining lots. An entire Himalayan hillside street,' two city blocks in length, was erected for the mob scenes, ami a rock cliff 125 ft high was built as a background for the airplane crash. Priceless hangings and ornaments from India were borrowed from the Brooklyn Museum, while_ a photographer was sent to the Bfjfßtic Exist to secure a few mountain scenes. The supporting bill and the musical programme enhance the interest of a good lull. QUEEN’S. ‘ More To Bo Pitied Than Scorned ’ is particularly suitable to the requirements of the silver sheet, and the first showings of the finished picture evoked complimentary comment. The cast embraces J. Frank Glcndon, Alice Lake, J’-osomr.ry Theliy, Baby Josephine Adair, and other players of national reputation. The rtmma is at the Queen’s.
