CHEAT BOAR KILLED

SHEEP OWNER TAKES REVENGE. SECOND MEETING WITH ANIMAL. OPOTIKI, December 4. Gerald Joblin, the owner of a sheep run a few miles from the town, killed the boar which wounded him severely on September 10. The boar’s camping ground was recently located, and Joblin and an assistant, armed, with rifles and carrying lanterns, left the homestead at 2 this morning. Bv daybreak they had arrived at their destination, and surprised the boar, which stood by. Several bullets wcrA pumped into it, but it attacked the hunters. A stern struggle ensued, m which more wounds were inflicted, until finally the boar succumbed. Joblin then measured it and found it to be 6ft long from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail—one of the largest ever killed in Opotiki district. The hunt wa> a most exciting experience.
