MAGISTRATE’S COURT
Thursday, December 4. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) UNDEFENDED CASES. Judgment for the undermentioned amounts (with costs) was given for plaintiffs in the following undefended cases: \V. Gregg and Co. v. Griffiths and Bennett (Te Rehunga), £1 4s, court costs; Douglas C. Kenton v. George Longshaw (Ahuriri Flat), £3 13s, balance owing on promisory note; W. B. Robinson y. Gordon Wilkie (Portobello), £6, goods supplied; Otago Farmers’ Co-op. Association v. W. Pledger (Halfway Bush), £4 10s 2d, balance money on account. CASE PROCEEDING. Neill and Co. (Mr W. L. Moore) proceeded against Stanley R. Croft (Mr raterson) with a claim for £llO. The claim was for the value of an oil engine installed in connection with an electric light plant by defendant, and removed (the plaintiff stated) after the termination Oa the lease. The plaintiff’s claimed that it was a fixture, having taken the place of an acetylene plant removed by defendant. Mr Paterson claimed that defendant had a right to remove it. The case was proceeding at the time of the luncheon adjournment.
