SURF BATHING
ST. CLAIR CLUB, There was a committee meeting of the above club on Tuesday evening last. In the absence of the president, Mr P. J. Priest wa s voted to the chair. Others , present were Messrs C. P. Triggs, J. L. j MTndoe, N. Bailey, L. Armstrong. C. I and J. Lewis, J. MTntyre, J. H. Lead--1 better. In connection with b/?„ swimming carnival to be held in the municipal baths on December 18, the draft programme, as submitted by tho sub-committee, Avas approved. It was decided to sell carnival tickets on the beach at tho official club opening on Saturday next. The programme for the opening day (Saturday next) was submitted—official opening by Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P. (patron), at 2.15 j life-saving demonstration, 2.40; surf-board competition, 2.60; children’s races, including sack race, wheelbarrow race, three-legged race, girls’ skipping race, etc., 3 o’clock; b An and treacle race, 4 o’clock.
