AUSTRALIAN’S WILL
BEQUESTS TO LABOR. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 1. The executors, Mr Fenner Brockway and Mr A. A. Ponsonby (who was Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs in the Labor Government), intimate that tho Independent Labor Party and the Union of Democratic Control may benefit as residuary legatees under the will of Mr H. H. Markwald, who recently died at Montreux. He was born in Berlin and was a naturalised Australian, residing in Australia for thirty years. It is reported that Mr Ramsay MacDonald, Mr Philip Snowden, Mr Ponsonby, Mr Brockway, and Mrs Swanwick Morel are mentioned as beneficiaries under the will, which, however, is not yet proved. The testator’s son is believed to be claiming three-fourths of the estate.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
