CROPLEY COMMISSION
CROWN’S ALLEGATIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. SYDNEY, November 7. In connection with the extension of the terms of the Cropley Commission, it was stated on behalf of the Crown that tho Crown would allege that the terms of the prospective tenancy required tho landlord to erect a petrol pump outside the premises; that the chief of the traffic department opposed this; and that Aiderman Walker was interviewed, and subsequently the City Council’s approval was given; and that Alderman Walker was given a cheque for £25 by tho estate agent concerned with the property, which he endorsed and paid into tho bank. This, the Crown alleges, was for using his influence as an alderman in securing tho erection of the pump. The Commission, owing to the difficulty of securing. witnesses, has adjourned till Monday.
