LONDON, August 16. Sir Joseph Cook presided at a. farewell dinner to Mr W. Cl. Gibson, PostmasterGeneral of the Commonwealth, and Mr J. W. Pennington, of the Victorian Parliament, at the British Empire Club. Sir Joseph Cook and others spoke warmly regarding the work accomplished by both guests in their spheres while in London. Mr Gibson reviewed the work lie had done, and regretted that ho had no lime to continue further efforts respecting wire less development, and also transit charges Ho spoke appreciatively of the work done by Sir Joseph Cook's staff at Australia House, of Iho efficiency of which he had entirely changed his op'inion.
