ARBITRATION COURT
FURNITURE TRADES AWARD. [Per United Press Association.} WELLINGTON, August 20. The Arbitration Court Is engaged to-day in hcaiing an application for a dominion award in the furniture-making trade. The principal conditions of the new award had been agreed to, practically on the basis of the old award, with the exception of wages and the terms on winch improver's may be employed. The workers are asking for a weekly rate of wages instead of an hourly one; also for an increase above the maximum skilled rate. The employers are standing on the court’s wage of 2s 2d an. boor.
