The meeting of tho Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association was held on Monday, Mrs Kelson presiding. A letter was received from the Southland Association stating that its team could not play in Dunedin on August 23, but that it would endeavor to arrange a match on the team’s retain from the Kcw Zealand tournament, probably September 13.—A committee was elected to meet the Southland team on its way north on Saturday, and see what arrangements could be made concerning a match later. The South Otago Association wrote stating that it would bo pleased to play a team in Dunedin on Saturday, August 30. The team would arrive at 11 a.m., and return by the 5.10 train.—The Secretary reported that on receipt of this letter she had applied for the use of Caledonian Ground for August 30.—Approved. Miss Hughes advised that the Southland primary schools’ loam would play Otago primary schools on Saturday next. The use of Oval No. 1 ground was granted for this game, at 1.30. The selectors of the junior representative team applied to have all B grade matches played on the Oval on Saturday to enable them to see all the teams in one day.—Tho request was agreed to, provided the use of two grounds could be obtained from the Men’s Association, four matches to be played at 1.30 and four at 3 o’clock. It was decided to close the A grade competition. Otago defeated Momona on Saturday, and thus have a 3-point lead, and hold the cup for the year. ST. CLAIR GOLF CLUB. Tho nineteenth animal report of the St. Clair Golf Club show’s the membership during tho year ended July 31 to have increased from 125 to 156, the latter number comprising ninety-six full members, fifty members of the University Club, two absentee members, one honorary member, and seven junior members. Entrance fees and subscriptions produced £129 11s, and Ladies’ Golf Club subscriptions, while green fees yielded £2l 18s. The revenue for tho year totalled £591 Os 3d, but this amount, together with a credit balance of £251 13s 3d from the previous year, w : as overspent by £124 6s 7d, duo to an expenditure of £540 4s on extensions and improvements to the club-house on a considerable scale. Despite. the value of the club-house having been written down to as low as £7OO in tho list of assets, these latter show’ an excess of £567 4s 3d over the liabilities.
