Wild pigs continue to commit extensive depredations in the Hawks’s Bay back country, and there aw few of the outer stations at which pig-hunters are not welcome. The pigs work havoc among lambs, in the pastures, and on the fences. In places they have been so active that bonuses of Is or more per tail have been offered to pig-hunters.
