The Otago Provincial Fruitgrowers’ Council, Ltd., advises receipt of a weekend report from the High Commissioner's Office as follows: Now Zealand stocks practically cleared. Market firm, although soft fruits now in plentiful supply. Prices this week ; Highclass Sturrncrs,' 17s to 20s per case; Statesman, 18s. Tekoa, .arrived June 26. Otaki is due July 6; Baranga is expected about July 6, and Arawa July 18. Tho Otaki carries the last of the Otago apples for tho season, and shippers are anxious to know if any damage has resulted from the reported fire aboard in No. 4 hold. Portion of the Otago apples were in No. 5 hold, and inquiries a,re now being made as to any damage to the apple cargo. It will be noted that a number of steamers are arriving within a few days of each other, and, although this may not be a serious matter, owing to the bare market, it illustrates another unsatisfactory phase of tho shipping problem.
