COMMUNITY SING TO-MOEROW
GEO. WALLACE TO LEAD. Recognising that its function is to promote community singing only for so long as tho public want it, the_ committee controlling tho singing hesitated about storting this year, beiim by no means certain of substantial public interest. In response to a wish expressed by tho mayor and others, the committee has laid plans for a brief experimental season. To-morrow tho first >! sing ” will be held in tho Octagon Hall, and tho presence of Mr George Wallace as loader should ensure a hearty opening. For the rest it will lie left to the public to show bv their presence and the sufficiency or otherwise of their contributions towards expenses whether they want tho weekly song meetings continued.
