A wireless telephone message to mi aeroplane in midair saved the lives of three members of the Air Force who were not aware that the landing carnage was swinging loose under the fu.scla,ge. An officer at the Weymouth aerodrome noticed the defect while the machine was passing overhead. He “ wirelessed ” an order to come down in the sea, and promptly arranged with naval motor boats in clear an area on the crowded waterfront. The Dials safely picked up the airmen and salvaged the aeroplane, which turned a somersault when it touched the water. —JWdnov ' Sun ’ Cable.
