Interviewed by the 1 Century Magazine,’ the Pope stated that he was much interested in the possibility of the Western churches re-entering the Homan fold, but he made it plain tTiat Lome will not alter her dogmas in order to secure union. The Archbishop of Canterbury (Dr Davidson) also doubts the possibility of physical union between the_ Anglican Church and Borne. “ Theoretically,” he said, “ it would be splendid to have all the churches working together an one body, but practically there are almost insurmountable difficulties in the way' of such a union." —A. and N.Z.
