At a special meeting of Die Borough ffonnc.il to night Die engineers submitted a scheme for the extension of tho water supplv, estimated to cost, ,(■ 1 cA ,}). I he proposals includo Die constniction of a new 80ft dam and larger mains, additional til ten;, and Ihc purchase of land. Tho Mayor (Mr F. d. Xalhan), in outlining the scheme, said that although it would cost a lot. of money the works would give, an adequate supply for fifty years, and would lake about ton years to complete. Funiter consideration was deferred till next .Monday
