The Niivua leaves Auckland next. .Saturday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin,
Tim Wingaiai leaves Auckland early next week for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, oama.ru, and Timaru, Tlio Storm is duo to-morrow, and sails again at night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Picton, and Wanganui. The Gale is duo on Friday from Lytic I ton. The Kotaro sails to-morrow for Bluff and Invercargill.

The Waimarino is due about. Wednesday next from Newcastle. The Kawat if i docks on Thursday at. i*ort Chalmers, and sails towards tlie cud of the week. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Mararoa, from \y«llin’fcon. arrived at Lyttelton at 9.45 a.in. yesterday, and passengers and mails came south to-day. ROTORUA FURTHER DELAYED. The Mew Zealand Shipping Company advises (hat. owing to continued bad weather on the east const, the Rotorua has been delayed in loading at Napier, and it has been necessary to further postpone ho.r final departure from Wellington. From Napier the Rotorua proceeds to Lyttelton, and will be due at WeflTtigton at the 'beginning of this week to complete loading. She -will be despatched tor Southampton and Ixmdon via J’aitnma Canal at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
XEW P. AMD 0. LINERS. The I*. and 0. shipbuilding programme, which was announced last year, provides for a fine fleet of steamers. The three 15.000- ships will be named respectively Gathay, Comorin, and Ohitral. The two 16.000- liners will be called Rswaflpincli and Rajputana. and two others, also of 16.000 to-ns, the Radii and Rammra. The express boat for the Torn hay-Aden service will he mimed Rosrnak. passing; of the wodonga. After sailing on the coast under (.he A. U.S.N. Company's flag for thirty-four years the steamer "Wodonga has ended her career of usefulness, and passed into tho hands of the ship-breakers. The vessel, with the Ara walla, was recently purchased by William Waugh, Ltd.,' at Brisbane, and six' arrived at Sydney recently in tow of Messrs Fenwick’s tug Heroic, from the north. Of 2,341 tons gross, the Wodonga was for many years a favorite passenger boat, on the Australian coast. THE NORFOLK. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s vessel Norfolk, now discharging Ix>iidon cargo at Auckland, is to leave (here tomorrow for Port Chalmers and Lyttelton to complete. This is the Norfolk’s tint visit to New Zealand. She is the exGerman steamer Sauerlami, a sister ship to the Hereford and the Huntingdon, and is a tine type of cargo vessel. Though originally a coal-burning .steamer, she was converted in England for the consumption of oil fuel, and on her 'recent, voyage averaged 13.6 knots from l/ondou to Suva. On May 17, the day before reaching Panama, she put, np something of a jierformance by nveragiug 15.06 knots for twenty-four hours. ,
THE CANADIAN MILLER. Messrs H. L. Ta.plcy and. Co. advise Unit the- Canadian Miller is due hero on July 10 from Adelaide, and sails about July 11 for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland, to load for United Stales mid Canadian purls. DISHORNE BUOY' ASHORE. The Marine Department has received advice, from the Gisborne 11 Arbor Board dial- the black buoy marking Tokomaru Ruck, in Gishurne roadstead, has been washed ashore, and will probably not be icplaeed for almut twelve days. TRANSHIPMENTS KX MDERAIvI. The Moeniki, which i.s (In* to-morrow from MoTbouruo via Wellington and Lytlelton. has transhipments ex Ostcrlcy, Ballarat, Moldavia, Carignano, Esperanec Bay, Cohvbo, and Vxllc do S'la’asbnrg. ATI’A DUE MONDAY. The Aina leaves Auckland on Wednesday for Kapler, Wellington, and Dunedin. She is due here next Monday, for Auckland via Lyttelton and Welling-, ton. THE MOERART. The Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Moeraki, from Melbourne via Wellington and .Lyitellon, i.s due here, to-morrow morning, and is expected to sail at night for Bluff and Melbourne.
FISHING LAUNCHES. PORT CHALMERS BUILDING activities.
Two modern launches, which will be a, decided acquisition to tlio local fishing fleet, hiuit to the order of Messrs J. M. Un-ill ie and 11. Jonghin. have Ivcen launched ai Miller and Tuunago’s boat, building yards, Carey’s .Raya The IRtlo vessels are 38ft over all, beam 9ft Sin, draft 4ft. Mr Baillie's launch, tiro Quest, embodies the builders’ latest improvements in design, ami construction. She is fitted with roomy, seif-emptying cockpits for’ard ,-i.ikl aft. Tho engine room and wheelhouse arc placed amidships. so that Hie vessel can be easily contra lied by onomao. She i.s lug-rigged, and will be used principally lor line fishing, the engine being a 10 li.p. double-cylinder .Standard.
'The Mona, Mr H. Jougii.in’s launch, is somewhat similar in design to the Quest, hut has a cruiser stern, which gives the hull a. yacht-like appearance. The engine room arid wlwtdhouse are abaft of aniidsbips. A two-berth cabin is placed forward of the engine room, and scli'-etnpty-ing cockpits are lilted fore and aft. Her engine is a double-cylinder Shaddock 10 lop. Orion, locally manufactured. The launch is stdlooncr- rigged, and will he used both for trawling and line felling. Both these launches gave a spiled on their trials of eight and three-quarter miles. Messrs Miller and Tannage have been' entrusted with two orders for forty-one-footers for Tiinam fishermen (Messrs Heath and Stephens). They are to be built to standardised design, having a. beam of 10ft, willi oft draught. The engines will be 20 h.p. double-eylnndcr srmiDicscl type, giving a speed of nine miles. Messrs Miller and Tannage have enlarged their premises, and both keels will lie laid at an early dale.
