CARS FOR COUNCILLORS
LATE SITTINGS. [Per United Press Association j WELLINGTON, May 22. One of tho-matters brought before the Primo Minister to-day by a City Council deputation was that provision should be made for motor cars to take councillors home after late meetings of the council. The Mayor said that tho Auditor-Gen-eral had refused to sanction further use of motor cars by allowing a charge to be made against the council. The council had at present matters of monent to consider and the only alternative to late sittings was to have two meetings instead of one, Mr Massoy said the matter could be remedied by legislation, but the question of general application to an amendment of the law would crop up. The Mayor said he saw the difficulty, but there could be restrictions.
