EASTER TOURNAMENT ENDED. The remaining events In the Otago Lawn Tennis Association’s Easter tonrnament were concluded o.n the Moana C'lnhs courts on Saturday afternoon. The light was good during the afternoon, but a strong south-west wind interfered considerably with the play. The following are the results; MEN’S HANDICAP SINGLES. —Final.— D. M'Donald (rec, 15) beat A. W. Alloo (ser). 9-8. These two players were very evenly matched, and tho score advanced to 3 all, and 4-3 in favor of M’Donold. 'Die score was even again at 7 all. Alloo won the fifteen till game, but M‘Donald won the next two, deciding the set and the event, 9-8. MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. —Final. — E. D, Duthic and R. Guy beat H. „K. Sumpter and A. IV. Alloo, 3-6, 6-3, hl-9, 6-0. Sumpter and Alloo struck their game early, and took the first set, 6-3, but Guy and Duthie captured the second by a similar margin. Tho third set, which was keenly contested, produced some splendid tennis. Sumpter and Alloo led at 6-5, and again at 9-8, and in both cases were within a point of the set, only to see the score again colled at deuce. Guv and Duthie won the, lost set, and with 't the championship, an honor for which they have fought hard on several previous occasions. OTAGO DOUBLE CHAMPIONS. The final wa.s very keenly contested. At the sixth game Sumpter and Miss MLaren led by five games to one, bid at the twelfth game, the score was 8-4.
