.MB C. D. HURREV. Mr C. D. Hurrey (World’s Student Christian Federation secretary) left America. for the Philippines on February 14, and was to leave there fur Australia, on March 20. After a. visit to tho Australian Movement, Mr Hurrey will visit New Zealand for what threatens to he a very brief visit, since ho desires to bo in America again by July. Dr Mott writes that Mr Hurrey is a. graduate of the University of Michigan, tho most influential State or Government university in America. At Michigan he was an outstanding leader in the Student Christian Association. He was afterwards first a State and then a National student secretary in America. Mr Hurrey’s success in these positions led to his appointment as continental secretary of tho International Committo of tho Y.M.C.A. for all South America- In preparation _ for this post he worked for nearly a year in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. ’After the South American appointment he was called back to North America to work among foreign students, a.nd as a result of this work was appointed three years ago ns a secretary of the federation, 'in this capacity Mr Hurrey has visited Latin America (North and South), China, Japan, Korea, Die Philippines, North Africa, the. Near East, and Central Europe. Dr Mott says that, except Miss Rouse, no present federation secretary has such wide, experience, Mr Hurrey will reach Dunedin on the 21st inst., and will be hero for a week.
