LAWN TENNIS
BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP. The members of the Boys’ High School Lawn Tennis Club play throughout (ho summer months on Saturday mornings at tho Moana courts. Their season was brought, to a close with a tournament of three events —namely, championship singles, championship doubles, and a handicap Yankee doubles. The championship singles was won by A. L. Salmond, with S. F. Greenslado as runner-up. The championship doubles was Avon, by Greenslado and Wilson, with Hamer and Rawlinson ns runners-up. The Yankee doubles is to be played' oft between Salmondi and Allan, Hamer and Rawlinson, .and Martin and Watson. Mr 18. W. S. Dotting has given considerable time to coaching the boys this season, and M. M‘George, in the capacity of secretary, has successfully controlled l tho club throughout tho year. The play in tho final rounds of the championship events was quite equal to that of previous years, although considerably short, of New Zealand junior championship form. The following are the results of the games : CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. —First Round. — Greenslado and Wilson b-ot Salmond and Allan, 9-8; Martin and Watson beat M‘George and Swallow, 9-2; Hamer and Rawlinson beat Toms and M'A.rtibnr, 9-4; S. N. Jolly and G. A. Young heat N. E. Jolly and W. A. Young, 9-6. —(Second Round. — Greens!ade find: Wilson beat "Martin n nd Watson by default; Hamer and Rawlinson beat Jolly and Young, 9-3. —Final— Groonsla.de and W r ilson beat Hamer and Rawlinson, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. —First Round. — W. H. Watson beat W. A. Young, 9-8; D. Y. Allan heat R. W r . Johnston, 9-8; A! L. Snlmond boat L. S. vSVallow, 9-6; S. N. Jolly beat M. M‘George. 9-2; S F.
